Gail Bowen (nee Bartholomew) was born on 22 September 1942 in Toronto. She earned a B.A. from the University of Toronto and an M.A. from the University of Waterloo. She was granted tenure at the University of Regina in 1986 and taught English at First Nations University of Canada (formerly the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College) until her retirement in 2007. In addition to her mystery novels featuring Joanne Kilbourn, Bowen has written several plays. She lives in Regina. For more information, visit her official site
