Atholl Sutherland Brown

Atholl Sutherland Brown was born in 1923 in Ottawa, the youngest son of James Sutherland Brown. During World War II, he was a Beaufighter pilot in Burma with 177 Squadron RAF and he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1945. When the war ended, Brown attended Princeton University where he earned a Ph.D. in geology and he later worked as Chief Geologist on the British Columbia Geological Survey. He lives in Victoria.
