Bev. Cooke was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She moved to British Columbia in 1979 and earned a B.A. in psychology from the University of Victoria in 1983. In addition to writing young adult novels, she works as an editor and writer's coach. Cooke is an Orthodox Christian and lives in Victoria.
