Caterina Edwards was born in Earls Barton, England and immigrated to Canada just before her eighth birthday. She grew up in Calgary, Alberta and received a B.A. in English in 1970 and an M.A. in Creative Writing in 1973 from the University of Alberta. She taught English and creative writing at the university level for many years before becoming a full-time writer in 2007. Edwards lives in Edmonton.
