Donald Jack
Donald Jack was born 6 December 1924 in Manchester, England. He came to Canada in 1951 after serving in the RAF during WWII. In addition to his novels, Jack wrote for the stage, radio, and television. His play, ‘Breakthrough’, was the first to be broadcast simultaneously on television to the United States and another play, ‘The Canvas Barricade’, was the first original Canadian play to be performed at the Stratford Festival. Donald Jack died 2 June 2003 in England at the age of 78.
