Raymond Knister
Raymond Knister was born on 27 May 1899 in Ruscomb, Ontario and studied at Victoria College, University of Toronto, and Iowa State University. He worked on his father's farm near Blenheim, Ontario before moving to Iowa City in 1923 where he was an associate editor of a literary magazine. Knister lived in Chicago briefly, then returned to Canada in 1924. On 29 August 1932, Knister drowned while swimming in Lake St. Clair.
