David McRae was born on 26 July 1948 in Indian Head, Saskatchewan and grew up in Clinton, Ontario. He earned a Master of Education degree at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto and taught with the Peel District School Board for 37 years. McRae lives in Caledon, Ontario.
