Thomas Head Raddall

Thomas Head Raddall was born on 13 November 1903 at Hythe, Kent, England and came to Canada in 1913. After attending Chebucto School, he trained at the Canadian School of Telegraphy in Halifax and worked as a marine telegraph operator from 1919 to 1922. He then trained at Maritime Business College and, in 1929, moved to Liverpool, Nova Scotia to work for the Mersey Paper Company. In 1938, he quit his job to become a full-time writer. In addition to his books, Raddall wrote numerous magazine articles and pieces for radio and television. He died 1 April 1994 in Liverpool.
