Mordecai Richler

Mordecai Richler was born 27 January 1932 in Montreal, Quebec. He attended Sir George Williams University (now Concordia) but left before graduating. Richler moved to Paris when he was 19 and then lived in London, England until 1972, when he returned to Montreal. In addition to his books, he wrote several screenplays and many articles for magazines and newspapers. Richler died of cancer on 3 July 2001 in Montreal.
