Mairuth Sarsfield
Mairuth Hodge Sarsfield was born on 6 March 1930 in Montreal, Quebec and worked as a journalist, research writer, and television host. In 1971, she joined the Department of External Affairs as an information officer. She worked with the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, developing their "For Every Child a Tree" campaign. Sarsfield lived on Vancouver Island until her death on 7 May 2013 from complications after a stroke.
