Marina Sonkina
Marina Sonkina was born in Moscow in the former Soviet Union. She was a Professor of Russian Literature at Moscow State University until her emigration to Canada in 1987. She lived in Toronto, then in Montreal where she worked as a CBC producer and broadcaster. While in the Soviet Union, Sonkina published articles, poetry, and short stories in Russian. Now living in Vancouver, she divides her time between teaching at Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia, and writing.
