Stuart Trueman

Stuart Trueman was born on 6 November 1911 in Saint John, New Brunswick. After graduating from high school, he began working for the Telegraph Journal and Evening Times Globe, first as an office clerk, then as a cartoonist and sports writer. In 1951, he became editor-in-chief, a position he held until his retirement in 1971, and he continued to write weekly columns for the newspaper until 1993. In addition to his books, Trueman wrote more than 300 articles which were published in Canadian and American magazines. He died on 23 April 1995 at Saint John.
