Marie Uguay was born Marie Lalonde on 22 April 1955 in Ville-Émard (Montreal) and studied at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She died 26 October 1981 of bone cancer and was buried in Sainte-Jeanne-de-Chantal cemetery.
