John Bemrose was born in 1947 and grew up in Paris, Ontario. He graduated from Victoria University in 1970, worked as a sales representative for a Toronto publishing company, and then became a freelance arts journalist. His reviews and articles have appeared in Maclean's, the Globe and Mail, and other publications. Bemrose lives in Toronto.
