George Elliott Clarke
George Elliott Clarke was born on 12 February 1960 in Windsor Plains, Nova Scotia. He received a B.A. (honours) in English from the University of Waterloo in 1984, an M.A. from Dalhousie University in 1989, and a Ph.D. from Queen's University in 1993. He has worked as a parliamentary aide in the House of Commons in Ottawa and as a newspaper editor and social worker. Clarke currently teaches English at the University of Toronto.
