Douglas Coupland

Douglas Coupland was born on 30 December 1961 on the Canadian Air Force base at Baden-Baden, Germany and grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia. He graduated from the Emily Carr College of Art and Design (now the Emily Carr University of Art and Design) in 1984 and also studied at the European Design Institute in Milan, Italy and the Hokkaido College of Art and Design in Sapporo, Japan. Coupland has written for the stage and screen and he is also a visual artist with exhibitions in North America, Europe and Asia. Coupland lives in Vancouver.
