Shane Peacock was born on 25 February 1957 in Port Arthur (now Thunder Bay), Ontario and grew up in Kapuskasing. He earned a B.A. (Honours) in English and hstory from Trent University and an M.A. in literature from the University of Toronto. Peacock lives near Cobourg, Ontario.
