The Governor General's Literary Award for Children's Literature (Text) is awarded annually for a book written by a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. For more information, visit the official site.

Note: An award was given for ‘juvenile’ books from 1949 to 1958, then dropped. In 1987, the category was reinstated as ‘children's literature’ and awards were given separately for text and illustration. This page lists winners and shortlisted books in the text category.
