Rohinton Mistry was born 3 July 1952 in Bombay (Mumbai), India and immigrated to Canada in 1975. He received a degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Bombay and a degree in English and philosophy from the University of Toronto. Mistry lives in Brampton, Ontario.
