Andrew Pyper was born in 1968 in Stratford, Ontario. He earned a B.A. in 1991 and an M.A. in 1992 in English literature from McGill University before studying law at the University of Toronto. Pyper was called to the bar in 1996 but has never practiced. He lives in Toronto.
