W.D. Valgardson

William Dempsey Valgardson was born in 1939 in Winnipeg and grew up in Gimli, Manitoba. He received his B.A. in 1961 from United College, his B.Ed. in 1966 from the University of Manitoba, and his M.F.A. in 1969 from the University of Iowa. For many years, he taught creative writing at the University of Victoria.
